CASA (Centro de Acción Social Autónomo) was founded in 1968 in Los Angeles, California by Bert Corona and Soledad Alatorre as a community assistance agency for undocumented workers. In 1974, the focus of the organization shifted to lobbying for immigration reform, publication of the newspaper, SIN FRONTERAS, and work with other socialist and socialist-study Chicano organizations.
